Sea Fishing Adventures in Arctic Ocean
For those seeking bigger waters, a short drive takes you to the shores of the Arctic Ocean in Norway. The nearest fishing spot, Mortensnes, is just over half an hour from Nuorgam. While Norway is often considered an expensive country, it is very welcoming for anglers: no special permits are required for sea fishing, and self-guided fishing in the Arctic Ocean is free of charge.
In addition to independent fishing, guided trips are available year-round, offering expert support and local knowledge. Depending on the season, your catch could include king crab, herring, cod, or large-mouth catfish.
Please note, that current regulations limit the amount of sea fish that can be taken out of Norway. You may bring a maximum of 18 kilograms of personally caught sea fish, and you must have a receipt from the fishing service to export it. These restrictions do not apply to freshwater fish or fish purchased from a licensed vendor.
